Support Technician
The Emergency Department Technician is responsible to assist the RN in the efficient operation of the department. The E.D. Tech. will be under the direct supervision of the RN. He/she will assist in providing care to meet the needs of the patient and the department. Duties will include obtaining and documenting a full set of vital signs, 1/1 observation of suicidal, restrained or confused patients, assisting with transportation needs, collecting urine and stool specimens, answering call lights, restocking and cleaning rooms, cleaning and changing linen on stretchers, assisting during a code 99, and cleaning/disinfecting of dirty instruments. The ED Tech may also be asked by the supervising RN to perform other duties within their scope of skills to aid and facilitate with acute nursing care.
Nurse Aide
The Nurse Aide is responsible and accountable for providing supportive care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Nurse Aide will carry out specific tasks and procedures as designated by the Registered Nurse in accordance with hospital policy and established job functions. He/she will cooperate with nursing staff in meeting needs and/or wants of patients by performing tasks for which the employee has been prepared.

Our network was created in October 2011 when Fletcher Allen in Burlington, Vermont, and Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, Vermont, signed an affiliation agreement. In January 2013, New York partners Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh and Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown joined the affiliation. In 2016, Alice Hyde Medical Center joined. The network was originally called Fletcher Allen Partners.
