This per diem Certified Nurse Aide position is eligible for shift differentials totaling: 

Evening: $5.50 per hour

Night: $7.00 per hour

Candidates for this position must agree to maintain the requirements of per diem staff at The Alice Center:

  • Work a minimum of (2)-8-hour shifts per pay period and (2)-8-hour weekend shifts per month (included in the 16-hours per pay period). With a maximum of 400 hours in a six-month period. Hours worked to cover for staff out of work for sickness or disability are not included in this total, nor are hours worked to cover shifts for other staff that are already schedule.  

  • Hours worked to cover for staff out of work for sickness or disability are not included in this total.

  • Weekend hours start at 10PM on Friday and continue until 6AM on Monday

  • Work at least (1) 8-hour shift per year on a Minor holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day)

  • Work at least (1) 8-hour shift per year on a Major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day)

  • If a per diem Nursing Staff employee calls in on the weekend, they will be required to make it up within 1 month.

  • Maintain mandatory education requirements within a three month timeframe.

  • Maintain BLS, a requirement for this position.

Job Summary:

Certified Nurse Aides within the Skilled Nursing Facility provide assistance to residents with ADL’s. They are responsible for carrying out all assignments given by the Registered Nurse or LPN in a safe appropriate and timely manner within the guidelines of the AHMC nursing care requirements. CNAs promote the use of resident’s assets and limit the effects of disabilities; they take accountability for all resident care given during the shift. CNAs must possess the ability to communicate with and provide care to adult and geriatric residents. The right candidate will also promote teamwork among co-workers and contribute to a positive environment.

Education:

  • Active New York State Nurse Aide Certification (CNA), required.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Approved 100 hour Nurse Aide course if hired after 1986.

Experience:

Previous Nurse Aide experience preferred, but not required.
