JOB DESCRIPTION:

Functions as the primary support person to the Nurse Manager for the direction and coordination of nursing care for a specific patient care unit. The ANM collaborates with the nurse manager in assessment and planning for nursing care. She/he carries out the responsibilities of the nurse manager in her/his absence with guidance from the Administrative Director. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in hiring and evaluation of staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective operations of the nursing unit.

EDUCATION:

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. BSN required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three years of appropriate nursing experience relevant to the clinical specialty of the unit.
