Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Technology Services, the Network, Systems and Security Administrator will play a key role within the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law’s Technology Services team, supporting our technology environment that underpins academic, research, and administrative activities. This position offers the opportunity to work across a broad and evolving infrastructure landscape, balancing day-to-day operational excellence with longer-term planning, security, and service improvement initiatives.
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the Faculty’s network, systems and services. This includes infrastructure and systems projects, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, and proactively monitoring platforms to identify risks and improvement opportunities. A significant focus of the role is the protection of digital assets, requiring the thoughtful application of security controls, access management, and risk mitigation practices aligned with institutional standards and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with technical colleagues, vendors, and a diversegroup of stakeholders, the role provides opportunities to lead technical work on initiatives such as system upgrades, new service implementations, and infrastructure enhancements. The incumbent will help translate business and academic needs into effective technical solutions, while ensuring appropriate testing, documentation, and operational readiness.
This position also emphasizes collaboration, service, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance to clients and peers, contribute to operational documentation and procedures, and stay current with emerging technologies and best practices. With a strong mix of hands-on technical work, project coordination, and consultative engagement, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to shape and strengthen Jackman Law’s technology environment.
