The Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law is one of the oldest professional faculties at the University of Toronto. Today, it is one of the world's great law schools. Jackman Law's rich academic programs are complemented by its many legal clinics and public interest programs. Jackman Law is housed in the elegant, state-of-the-art Jackman Law Building, alongside two historic buildings, Flavelle House and Falconer Hall, on the St. George Campus in downtown Toronto.

Your opportunity:

Under the direction of the Director, Career Development Programs, the Employer Relations & Programming Coordinator will utilize their expertise with online tools and career management systems to facilitate large and small recruiting programs, as well as collect and analyze student employment status data. The incumbent will maintain and build relationships with stakeholders across the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law and the employers who hire our law students while continuing to develop expertise in legal recruiting and market trends. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
  • Keeping well-informed on recruitment trends; researching and recommending new partnerships and promoting programs and service offerings to internal and/or external contacts
  • Determining logistical details required for student job application process
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Participating in strategic initiatives in the office such as liaising with stakeholders, and developing and implementing targeted outreach to support recruitment strategies
  • Updating and maintaining resources and the office’s careers portal
  • Acting as the first point of contact for program-related enquiries and employers seeking to hire students or alumni
  • Preparing detailed summary reports for recruitments, programs and services

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum three years' related experience in detailed logistical and administrative work
  • Experience supporting programming and coordinating career recruitment and programs in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience preparing critical reports under time-pressure
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing collaborative relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including students, faculty, external partners, staff etc.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Expertise with online career management systems and tools (i.e. 12 Twenty, Simplicity, etc.)
  • Good understanding of current recruitment trends
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and adaptability to shifting priorities
