The Department of Philosophy is an international leader in the history of philosophy, ethics, philosophy of science and philosophy of mind. In each of these fields,department members use contemporary philosophical problems and their historical antecedents to illuminate one another. Your opportunity:
Under the direction of the Department Manager for the Department of Philosophy, the Communications Officer is responsible for the design and development of all the departments’ communications and marketing material. Responsibilities include writing, editing, and producing key communication materials designed to inform of the activities and achievements of the Philosophy department.
The incumbent produces news and feature stories for the departmental website and e-newsletter, advancement and promotional materials, and utilizes new media channels to develop and enhance the profile of the Philosophy department. The incumbent builds and maintains relationships with alumni for the purpose of obtaining information. The incumbent organizes departmental events. The incumbent is responsible for the administration of the Philosophy Graduate Mentorship Program and other departmental outreach activities.
