Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting up interventional radiology (IR) rooms specific to the study being conducted. Utilizes customer service skills while interacting with patients as well as family members to create a caring atmosphere during their visit.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares room and patient specific to the exam to be performed.
- Arranges equipment, trays, supplies, position patients, and determine proper exposure factors in order to produce a high quality image.
- Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider. Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
- Observes each patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to meet his or her age-specific needs.
- Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, appropriate exam, and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
- Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift, transferboards, hover mats.
- Completes and bills for studies accurately.
- Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required. Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits as required.
