Job Description

SUMMARY:

Performs skilled landscaping and manual work necessary to maintain university properties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills

  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills

  • Highly thorough and dependable

  • Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance and the equipment required to perform ground maintenance duties

  • Basic knowledge of groundskeeping and elementary horticultural practices and procedures

  • Some knowledge of the pruning and trimming requirement of shrubs and trees

  • Required:  Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to produce a driving record with a minimum of 3 years of driving history in good standing

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required

  • Less than 2 years prior work experience in landscape maintenance preferred

WORK HOURS:

  • Full-time; Non-exempt

  • Monday-Friday 6:30AM-3:00PM; flexibility required.

  • All university facilities employees are designated as essential personnel and are subject to work outside the normal work schedule on an emergency basis and are also subject to planned overtime work as required by the immediate supervisor

SALARY STRUCTURE:

Pay Grade 1 (Hiring Range $15.00 to $17.00 per hour)
