About this role

Applications are being accepted through January 30, 2026, for a post-doctoral associate with a Ph.D. in intermicrobial co-evolution to conduct scholarly research on the molecular, evolutionary, and ecological interactions among environmental microbes. The successful applicant will have experience in microbiology, molecular biology, genomics, and the design of host-microbe interaction experiments. Candidates should also have excellent project and data management skills. They should show evidence of performing well as mentors of junior trainees, and they should work well as part of a team. Preferred applicants will work with model or non-model host-microbe interaction systems and have a rich publication history, including multiple first author publications. Candidates will also be expected to be a full participant in the intellectual activities of the laboratory, including group meetings, preparation of grants and fellowship applications, manuscript review, and journal clubs. An additional expectation is the timely preparation of well-supported data for publication.  The anticipated start date of this position is September 1, 2026, for a one-year appointment with a possibility to renew.
