About this role

The Special Teams Analyst for the University of Oklahoma Football Program supports the Special Teams Coordinator by preparing statistical reports, conducting scouting and film analysis, and providing detailed evaluations of opponent tendencies.

Essential Functions:  

  • Assist the Special Teams Coordinator with assigning player groups 
  • Assist recruiting and scouting departments in maintaining and updating recruiting board 
  • Assist recruiting and scouting departments in compiling recruiting list (Top Players by State/Position/ETC) 
  • Assist the recruiting and scouting departments with player analysis
  • Assist the Special Teams Coordinator with Pro Scouts 
  • Assist the Special Teams Coordinator with providing the official’s write-up to the General Manager 
  • Assist coaches with all paperwork 
  • Daily management of all playbook handouts, editing and V-mail of teaching tapes 
  • Manage all player handouts, installation, scouting reports, tips, and tests for the assigned position group
  • Manage all stats, goals, and grade sheets for the assigned position group
  • Manage a copy of all practice scripts 
  • Chart players' practice reps 
  • Chart all scrimmage/game calls 
  • Manage staffroom and recruiting board 
  • Assist with tours of all on-campus recruiting visits 
  • Assist coaches with the organization of all recruit video files 
  • Assist with Junior Day and Youth Day 
  • Assist with Football Banquet 
  • Assist with assigned curfew check duties
  • Other duties as assigned by the Special Teams Coordinator and Football Head Coach


Required Education: A Bachelor’s degree, AND:  

  • 12 months (1 year) of collegiate experience in assigned sport or closely related experience in coaching, athlete, or analyst

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months experience.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written and presentation skills and proactive, open and responsive interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with varyious student populations, university personnel (e.g. faculty, college deans, administrators, athletic coaches, and staff), as well as representatives from the community.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of openness to new approaches and new ideas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.  
  • Commitment to compliance with all NCAA legislation and principles.

Advertised Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions, communicate and see including color, depth perception and clarity

Department Preferences:

  • Master’s Degree in any specialization OR an equivalent combination of education and job-related experiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
