Position Summary

The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico is looking for an outstanding communicator with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to join our growing team as a Student Recruitment Specialist. Anderson is a world-class business school with award winning faculty and programs, offering a wide array of degree programs for a diverse student population. Anderson is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International and is one of the few programs in the world to attain both an Accounting and Business Accreditation from AACSB.

The successful candidate will help drive student recruitment for our graduate programs, including the Executive MBA (EMBA), MBA, Online MBA, Master of Accounting (MACCT), Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM), Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Business Analytics (MSCBA), and Graduate Certificates in Management and Taxation. Specific duties will include:

  • Corresponding with prospective students of and applicants to graduate programs, including EMBA, MBA, MACCT, MSPM, MSCBA, Online MBA, and Graduate Certificate programs through email, one-on-one appointments, and phone calls;
  • Counseling prospective students on career trajectories during and post-masters;
  • Managing phone call schedule for inquiries and applicants, strategizing efforts around key deadlines and events;
  • Leading virtual and in-person information sessions and events, including scheduling, content, catering, room requests, event notifications, marketing requests, and event reminders;
  • Traveling to colleges, universities, employers, and other partners to deliver presentations, attend fairs, and recruit for the graduate programs. Travel may include international travel;
  • Partnering with corporations to present and share materials on graduate programs;
  • Analyzing and managing reporting on events, phone calls, and appointments on a monthly basis;
  • Learning and assisting with Salesforce processes following best practices for tracking interactions with prospective students;
  • Learning admission and application process to provide expert answers to applicant questions;
  • Maintaining updated SOP’s and training materials, as needed;
  • Participating in discussions on strategy, marketing, and budget to advocate for prospective student needs.

  • Ability to travel by vehicle or air, locally, statewide and/or out of state.
  • A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license within thirty days of hire, is required for this job.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Master’s Degree
  • Demonstrated comfort and proficiency in communicating effectively with diverse audiences through various channels, including in-person, phone, Zoom, and email. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different mediums and ensure clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with adult learners
  • Demonstrated organizational skills in past work experience
  • Experience with event coordination
  • Ability to speak/understand Spanish (helpful but not required)
