Position Summary

The University of New Mexico College of Nursing (CON) invites exceptional candidates to apply for a faculty position. We represent a diverse community of educators, researchers, learners, and collaborators dedicated to the advancement of providing health education and practice. The selected individual will receive an academic appointment commensurate with credentials and qualifications. We offer a competitive salary and outstanding benefits package. 

The primary focus of this position is to teach content in the undergraduate program. Responsibilities include clinical, skills lab, simulation, and didactic teaching. This is a full time 12-month appointment. The selected applicant must maintain a primary residence in the Albuquerque area (including surrounding communities such as Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Belen, Edgewood, and Santa Fe) and be able to reliably commute to the College of Nursing in Albuquerque.

The University Of New Mexico College of Nursing, located in Albuquerque, NM, ranks in the top 15% of nursing programs in the country.  With over 1,000 enrolled students, the college offers pre- and post-licensure baccalaureate, master’s, post-master’s, and doctoral programs.  Program offerings include the state’s premiere Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs; master’s and post-master’s programs across seven concentrations for APRNs, nurse educators, and nurse administrators; and the New Mexico Nurse Education Consortium baccalaureate curriculum.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in nursing
  • At least two years clinical or teaching experience
  • Must be eligible for RN licensure in New Mexico or hold an RN license in a compact state

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, DrPH, or equivalent)
  • Certified Nurse Educator or other professional certification
  • Experience in course development, teaching, or simulation
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
