Position Summary The Latin American and Iberian Institute is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Admin Assistant III. The person will perform a variety of administrative, and staff support duties for the institute, which require a range of skills and a knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.  These include assisting with evaluation and alumni tracking; collecting data for reports and grant proposals; coordinating logistics including travel for events, award programs, and activities; making updates to our website; and helping with record keeping.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of UNM policies, procedures and systems which include Banner, Chrome River, MyReports, LoboMart, PCard, Cascade, Qualtrics, and InfoReady
  • Knowledge of special events planning and catering procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to navigate and work with cumbersome data-gathering processes
  • Word processing and/or data entry skills
  • Records maintenance skills
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Ability to create surveys and collect assessment data using Qualtrics
  • Knowledge about and experience working in or with Latin America
  • Some knowledge, comprehension, and ability to speak in Spanish and/or Portuguese
