DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Articulate precise understanding of how data flows in and out of modality work area.  Be attentive to patient satisfaction results and collaborate with management team on ways to improve the department in general and facility overall. Seek ways to improve systems and services.  Demonstrate ability to meet and sustain departmental expectations while completing work assignments as it pertains to patient care in an ethical manner. Maintain integrity of equipment with careful manipulation at all times.  Demonstrate sustained ability when interacting with patients, to follow the AIDET principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Expectation and Thank You). Ensure confidentiality of all patient information is maintained.  May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

One (1) year of a sonographer program. 


 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
