-Base Pay Range: $32.82 - $48.27/hr, based in experience

-Shift Differentials: Additional $2.75 per hour for evening shifts, $4.00 per hour for night shifts, $3.00 per hour for weekend shifts


 
ABOUT THE JOB 

 

MU Healthcare is looking for a compassionate and skilled professional to join our dynamic team as an Admission and Placement Specialist. We need someone who can strategically manage patient bed placements and transfers, using their clinical expertise and critical thinking skills to ensure efficient and timely care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication abilities to collaborate with our dedicated team of House Managers and nursing units, ensuring seamless patient movement and placement.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

·         Utilize clinical expertise, process incoming requests for transfers, direct admissions and consultations, assist with transport arrangements, recommend level of care, facilitate nurse report, and enter documentation into electronic systems.  

·         Apply clinical knowledge and strategic critical thinking skills for efficient bed management to triage and assign beds to internal and incoming patients based on clinical picture and bed availability.  

·         Maintain open communication with MUHC facility House Managers and ER/ nursing units regarding patient admission and movement to expedite appropriate placement of patients in a timely manner. 

·         Facilitate communication during system downtime by completing admission/referral forms, notification of clinical units of expected patient movement/bed assignments, and post-downtime system data entry. 

·         Participate in process improvement initiatives.  

·         May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents. 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.  

 

One (1) year of acute or urgent care nursing experience. 
 
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
