Address:  1 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO

Store Hours:  Monday – Friday 7am -7pm; Saturday -Sunday 9am – 5pm (shift will be within these days/times)


Compensation:

 

·        Base Pay Range: $22 - $34.74/hour, based on experience

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 

Join our dynamic Mizzou Pharmacy team as a Patient Medication Liaison where your expertise will make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community! Our Mizzou Pharmacy is located within MU Health Care’s University Hospital where we partner with other healthcare professionals to improve the lives of our patients.

 

In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you’ll be the friendly face that greets patients and ensure everyone’s pharmacy experience is smooth and supportive. You will prepare and dispense medications and manage inventory. In addition, you will play a crucial role assisting with the medication needs of discharging patients, including supporting our bedside delivery program. Your role will involve coordinating discharge prescriptions, pre-screening patients for payment sources, addressing reimbursement issues efficiently, and identifying and referring eligible patients to medication assistance programs. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Conduct prospective medication prior authorization services to expedite clinic and discharge workflow and enhance the patient experience.

 

Coordinate refill and prescription renewal requests by pre-screening patients for viable payment sources and managing reimbursement issues.

 

Facilitate effective working relationships and consistent communication between clinics, hospitals, patients, and pharmacies.

 

Identify and refer appropriate patients to medication assistance programs.

 

Perform the duties of a pharmacy technician as required and other duties as assigned.

 

May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

 

Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

 

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.


 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

One (1) year of college. Two (2) years of retail pharmacy experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
