·         Base Pay Range: $16.56 to $23.64 per hour, based on experience. 

·         Special Pay: Additional $2.50 per hour until February 28, 2026

ABOUT THE JOB

 

This is routine manual and clerical work involving performance of general warehouse or storeroom activities including receiving, storing, issuing, delivering and shipping of widely diversified or specialized supplies.  All work is subject to spot checking for efficiency and compliance with instructions.  Functional contacts include co-workers, patrons of the storeroom and University personnel throughout the campus involved in receiving deliveries with casual contact with other University staff and students.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Unloads and unpacks incoming materials, supplies and equipment, checking delivery receipts with purchase orders; may record items received on inventory cards and other records.

Checks, sorts, and stores incoming supplies and materials in appropriate storage area in/on racks, shelves, bins, cabinets, refrigeration units, special storage containers, etc.  May stamp storage items with identifying code number or prepare inventory sheet for inclusion with such supplies. 

Fills orders from requisitions and issues materials, supplies and equipment on request; keeps appropriate records; checks in returned items; counts, grades, weighs and measures stock items in filling requests.

Assembles orders; wraps, boxes, crates, marks, stencils, and otherwise prepares outgoing shipments; loads materials, supplies, tools, and equipment on trucks and cars; delivers and receives supply items; obtains authorizing signature on order acknowledging receipt of delivered goods.

Assists in keeping a perpetual inventory of stock as it is received and issued; may write requests for requisitions for replenishment of stock;  rearranges and replaces items on shelves; assists in taking periodic inventories of stock.

Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of storage and production areas; sweeps, mops, dusts, sprays, defrosts, etc., as needed.  Empties trash containers and disposes of rubbish.

Operates fork lift, transporters, two-wheel carts, and other material handling equipment incidental to performance of duties.

May perform routine filing and clerical duties.  Processes stores requisitions and credit memorandums; checks tally-ins against purchase orders; prepares necessary data processing forms for new stock items received and enters prices in appropriate catalogues.  Prepares reports as necessary.

Makes minor adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock.  Rotates stock in accordance with standard procedures or as directed.

Performs related duties as assigned.

 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

High school graduate or equivalent.

 

Clerical aptitude and some knowledge of basic store keeping procedures.

 

Good physical condition and coordination to permit the lifting of heavy objects.

 

Possession of a valid state driver's license may be necessary for some positions.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring

department.

This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees.
