The department of Risk Management at the University of Miami has an exciting full-time opportunity for a hybrid Risk Management Coordinator. The Risk Management Coordinator (H) provides administrative and logistical support to the Office of Risk Management. The role assists Risk Managers by arranging meetings, tracking cases, filing documentation, and organizing other risk management activities. The role also provides administrative and logistical assistance with investigations as needed.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides administrative and logistical support to the risk team by managing calendars, coordinating meetings with internal and external stakeholders, tracking case statuses, and filing documentation.
  • Participates in low-level investigations to learn the process and assist risk managers.
  • Supports department with daily clerical tasks.
  • Makes travel arrangements and reservations for department leadership and staff as needed.
  • Assists with the assignment of tasks to internal teams to include schedule management.
  • Organizes, attends and participates in meetings, and prepares necessary presentation materials for meetings.
  • Records minutes and takes detailed notes during meetings.
  • Participates in risk management activities, including but not limited to investigations, root cause analyses, and incident trending.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policy and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Department Specific Functions

  •  Provides administrative and operational support to the Office of Risk Management, reporting to the Manager of Administrative Operations, to ensure efficient day-to-day departmental functioning
  • Provides direct administrative support to Risk Management leadership, including coordination of activities, tracking of action items, and follow-up on behalf of management.
  • Supports departmental administrative operations, including scheduling, documentation management, record tracking, and coordination of meetings and departmental activities.
  • Assists with tracking and organizing risk management workflows, reports, and supporting materials, as directed by leadership.
  • Serves as an administrative point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding non-clinical and operational matters related to the department.
  • Supports onboarding, access coordination, and operational readiness activities for departmental staff in collaboration with institutional partners.
  • Assists with purchasing, expense processing, reconciliations, and other administrative transactions in accordance with University policies and procedures.
  • Supports department-wide communications, education logistics, and outreach initiatives as assigned.
  • Performs additional administrative and operational duties as assigned to support evolving departmental needs.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Experience providing administrative or operational support in a healthcare, academic, legal, or similarly regulated environment preferred
