The Central Supply Technician (U) distributes supplies and equipment, and inventories and restocks assigned par level areas. This position also performs the daily cleaning and decontamination of the department’s reusable items.

1.    Maintains supply areas, par level carts, and automated dispensing supply systems in a clean and orderly fashion. 
2.    Labels supply shelves and bins with the appropriate par labels.
3.    Monitors collection, decontamination, cleaning, and charging of all patient reusable equipment.
4.    Reports any broken or damaged equipment to appropriate staff so that repairs may be made.
5.    Prints and places patient charge labels on all designated patient chargeable items before leaving warehouse or supply room. 
6.    Assures all items removed from the warehouse or supply area are charged to the correct department. 
7.    Assists staff members in placing all supplies away in their correct locations.
8.    Collects all patient charge documents from assigned areas. 
9.    Maintains crash carts assigned by ensuring that items that will expire are removed before the expiration date. 
10.    Provides distribution of supplies to various departments. 
11.    Maintains daily, monthly, and yearly inventory control reports for all supplies and instruments. 
12.    Maintains dating system for recall of supplies according to limit of shelf life. 
13.    Monitors sterilization, including charting of sterilization reports.
14.    Processes supply requests in a prompt, cooperative, and efficient manner.
15.    Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
