Your next career opportunity: 
As a Student and Academic Services Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the student lifecycle and curriculum administration within the Faculty of Science. You'll have the opportunity to engage with students and academic staff, ensuring the smooth delivery of programs and processes that enhance educational experiences. Your role will involve collaborating with colleagues across schools and central University services, contributing to high-quality service and effective team participation. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide administrative program support: facilitate course and subject change processes and governance operations, assist with student processes such as study abroad and exchange, advanced standing and student surveys.  

  • Support student case management: contribute to special consideration and academic integrity case management processes and assist with student progress committee preparations.  

  • Utilise data and systems efficiently: facilitate  results entry processes and coordinate special assessments, maintain accurate records and promplty respond to data reporting requests. 

  • Engage in team collaboration: participate in team business planning, knowledge sharing andcontribute to shared priorities and continuous improvement efforts.

You are an organised and detail-oriented professional with experience in academic administration, capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining high-quality service and effective communication. 

You may also: 

  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience in academic administration. 

  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, building effective relationships. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. 

  • Show competence in using digital and administrative systems, learning new platforms quickly. 

  • Exhibit a commitment to high-quality service and discretion in handling sensitive information.

The Science Secretariat is the administrative unit for the Faculty of Science and all its teaching, research and commercial activities. The Secretariat is responsible for the policy development, planning, implementation and ongoing management of Faculty programs.
