As a Procurement Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting researchers by procuring essential equipment that meets both technical and budgetary requirements. You will manage tenders, optimise purchasing catalogues, and ensure compliance with procurement processes. This position offers you the chance to enhance your procurement skills while contributing to the advancement of research initiatives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Manage a Newly Established Panel of Preferred Suppliers: Manage online catalogues, oversee supplier performance, conduct reviews, and ensure compliance with procurement arrangements. 

  • Run Sourcing Events for Research Equipment: Develop and manage tenders, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts to deliver value for money and sustainable outcomes. 

  • Support Strategic Procurement Initiatives: Assist in the delivery of category strategy projects to mature procurement processes and enhance research equipment sourcing. 

  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Uphold OH&S standards and adhere to the University's risk management framework. 

You may be a great fit if 

You have over 3 years of procurement experience, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to independently manage tenders and supplier performance within complex environments. 

You will also 

  • Possess a Commerce, Business, Finance tertiary qualification or formal industry qualification in Procurement. 

  • Have experience setting up ERP purchasing catalogues and using e-Sourcing tools. 

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 

  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach. 

  • Be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI, and ERP systems.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
