As Director, Sport and Active Engagement, you will lead strategic initiatives that integrate sport, fitness and community engagement to enhance student and staff wellbeing.
 

Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, you will align programmes with institutional priorities and foster lifelong connections with the University.
 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Strategic leadership: developing and executing vision and strategy for sport aligning with University’s Strategy 2030.

  • Team development: inspiring and empowering managers and teams to deliver excellence across sport and engagement functions.

  • Integrating programme oversight: overseeing the delivery of sport and fitness programmes, ensuring they are impactful and responsive to community needs.

  • Facilities management: championing investment in sport facilities, ensuring world-class standards and sustainability.

  • Equity and inclusion: leading initiatives to create inclusive experiences for diverse cohorts.

Your new team – “Melbourne University Sport” 
Melbourne University Sport (MU Sport) is a Department of the University, reporting to the Executive Director Student and Scholarly Services. It provides high-level policy, business and financial advice to the University on the development and management of sport and recreation at the University.

Sport has a special significance for the University through the performance of sporting clubs, teams and high-profile athletes that enhance the reputation of the University. The vision for sport is that the University of Melbourne is the leading Australian university in sporting performance, participation and quality of facilities.
 

MU Sport provides professional management of the fitness, sports and recreation facilities, programs and activities of the University and works closely with all stakeholders and external strategic partners in delivering sport and physical recreation opportunities for the University community in accordance with strategic and operational plans.
