The Program in Trauma, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is recruiting a full time Plastic Surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful applicant will be based at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, a worldwide leader in trauma care, and the heart of Maryland’s unique Emergency Medical Services system.
The faculty of the Division broadly support the mission of Shock Trauma Center, treating patients with craniofacial/extremity trauma and managing post-traumatic skeletal and soft tissue reconstruction. The Shock Trauma Center is a rotation site for the combined University of Maryland / Johns Hopkins University Plastic Surgery residency program; faculty are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarly activities.
Requirements include successful completion of an ACGME accredited training program in Plastic Surgery, BC/BE in Plastic Surgery and ability to obtain an unrestricted Maryland State medical license. Applicants with advanced, fellowship training in craniofacial surgery or microsurgery, and/or prior experience in post-traumatic reconstruction will be most competitive. Successful applicants must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate ability to work well in a team setting.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level with non-tenure status and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Program in Trauma faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Department of Surgery variable compensation programs. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
