University of Iowa Health Care - Medical Center North Liberty is seeking a Clinical Technician I to perform specialized tasks and procedures in support of the staff anesthesiologists, resident physicians, staff nurse anesthetists and student nurse anesthetists.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Care, maintenance, troubleshooting, and instruction in the proper usage of anesthesia equipment and supplies in all anesthetizing locations
Inspects functional condition of all accessories and equipment
May provide first line maintenance and troubleshooting
Keeps track of and retrieves all loaned materials and equipment
Preparation of all anesthetizing locations
Maintains all anesthesia service areas in readiness for anesthesia provider.
Assure that proper anesthesia-related equipment is available and in the correct configuration for the next case
Assures medications and supplies are available for the next case
Cleans all anesthesia-related equipment and restocks the service area after each use, including anesthesia carts, machines, totes and code boxes
Moves all necessary equipment to satellite anesthetizing stations as needed
Performs daily assignments in patient care activities
Assist the anesthesia providers in the transport of patients from various locations while the patient is being monitored
Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by appropriate personnel.

Reports any potential problems to Anesthesia Workroom Supervisor
Handles telephone calls with courtesy, accuracy, and respect for confidentiality
Inventory control
Stocks anesthesia workroom with all necessary supplies and accessories
Stocks pharmacy dispensed medications in the anesthesia workroom and anesthesia supply carts.
Assures that all stocked medications and supplies are within required expiration dates
Assists with inventory control

Hourly: $17.86 to commensurate
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 0630AM-300PM
Location: Medical Center North Liberty, potential to float to Medical Center University 1 day/week
