Job Title: Assistant Professor

Job Summary:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, in conjunction with the University of Colorado Hospital, is recruiting a residency-trained Colorectal Surgeon to join the Division of GI, Trauma & Endocrine Surgery, Colorectal Surgery Section for a 1.0 FTE position available at the rank of Professor or Assistant Professor. Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed an approved Colorectal Surgery residency program and be eligible for certification or certified by the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery.

 

We have a busy Colorectal Surgery practice that offers a broad range of general to complex cases involving benign and malignant conditions of the small bowel, colon, rectum, and anus. Our cancer, IBD, and pelvic floor patients are managed in multidisciplinary clinics. We have access to multiple surgical robots and the hospital endoscopy suite. A built-in referral pattern is already established. The Denver metro area is growing and so are our clinical volumes. On-call includes coverage of colorectal surgery patients only.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

 

  • Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • Board Eligible or Certification in Colorectal Surgery
  • Completion of Colorectal Surgery Fellowship (ACGME accredited)
  • Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges by the time of hire 

Preferred Qualifications:

        The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the evaluation and management of pelvic floor diseases and will be willing to work closely with our urology and URO-GYN colleagues in the multidisciplinary management of these patients.

        Experience in an academic clinical environment.

        Interest in the pursuit of clinical research in colorectal surgery.

        The candidate should also demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$240,000 to $360,000 

 

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
