Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Emergency Department Technician (EMT) is trained to provide limited patient care. He/She must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in diverse situations. He/she works under the direction of a Registered Nurse.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • MANDATORY:
    Current EMT Certification with recent ambulance or hospital experience
    Current CPR Certification.
    Non-violent crisis intervention within three months of hire and recertification every year thereafter.
    PREFERRED:
    Basic ECG class.
    ACLS.
    Computer Literate.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
