Job Summary
The primary focus of the Lab Assistant is to provide critical support to ongoing Lab projects related to patient engagement and radiology studies. The successful candidate will assist in data collection and coordination of meetings under the guidance of the Principal Investigator and Lab team. Responsibilities include scheduling virtual meetings with patient and community partners, track project milestones and timelines, assisting in collecting materials and reference letters for grant applications and provide support to ensure grammatical accuracy and coherence in manuscript preparation. On a day-to-day basis, work will be done both in-person and online.
Organizational Status
The Lab Assistant will be working under the direct supervision of Dr. Faisal Khosa within the Department of Radiology, collaborating with faculty and staff. The role will report directly to the Principal Investigator and may receive additional supervision from senior Lab personnel.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
This position represents the University of British Columbia, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Department of Radiology in its dealing with Residents, faculty, staff and the community at large. Errors in decisions/ judgment can adversely affect the smooth continuation of the research work. This incumbent will be expected to exercise good judgment and initiative in prioritizing and scheduling work. The incumbent works within broad guidelines and in conjunction with the Program Director/Education Program Manager. Errors could result in a reduction in Ministry of Health funding, impact on resident education, program accreditation, and loss of valuable physician time and income.
Supervision Received
The Lab Assistant will work independently in consultation with the Principal Investigator and will receive guidance from faculty members regularly.
Supervision Given
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may guide student volunteers or junior Lab assistants.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
