Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Neurology is seeking a post-doctoral research fellow for a one-year fixed term. The fellow also will help supervise and provide training (e.g. standard operating procedures, statistical training, safety, etc.) to other members of the lab such as graduate students, residents and medical students. The postdoctoral fellow must have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or MD), and a track record of productivity with peer-reviewed publications.


Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or MD) in medicine, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, physiology, molecular biology or related field.


Additional Information:

  • Conducts research activities with minimal supervision under the direction of the Principal Investigator and/or collaborating researchers.

  • Develops, refines, and troubleshoots research protocols and experimental methods.

  • Collects scientific background information for ongoing and future studies and grant projects.

  • Maintains detailed and accurate research records, including experimental data and images.

  • Ensures compliance with safety procedures and maintains required safety training.

  • Maintains documentation for research equipment, including usage records, service contracts, and scheduled maintenance.

  • Prepares manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations for internal and external audiences.

  • Assists with the preparation and processing of grant proposals, amendments, and regulatory submissions.

  • Participates in sponsor and regulatory site visits related to research documentation and procedures.

  • Attends required seminars, trainings, and meetings as directed by the Principal Investigator or supervisor.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
