Summary of Job Duties:

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team at UAMS Fayetteville Family Medical Center. This position is a key member of the unit-based team, supporting the ongoing delivery of care as determined by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team. The PCT works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and ATC, performing tasks that do not require licensed practitioner oversight, professional judgment, or intervention. This is a PRN position.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Collects/records patients’ medical history and acquires patient vital signs
  • Advises patients regarding treatment, medication, and specific physician instructions
  • Collects lab samples and complete necessitated documentation for submission to the lab      
  • Greets all patients/customers in a professional and courteous manner upon arrival at the clinic
  • Registers and checks out patients
  • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner 
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality
  • Work with all clinical staff to help meet patient health and clinic goals

Administrative Duties:

  • Administrative duties including, but not limited to the following: faxing documents, obtain and submit insurance prior authorizations, help create and arrange surgery packets for physicians, and other assigned administrative duties as needed
  • Work with all clinical staff to help meet patient health and clinic goals

May perform Other Duties as assigned
