Summary of Job Duties:

Donor screeners will make and maintain all records of contact with potential milk donors, maintain documentation in accordance with HMBANA requirements, facilitate medical approval from Medical Director for donors, and assist with regional milk depot management per standard operating procedures. Donor screeners will acquire lactation training. This role should be food handler certified and receive training to support milk processing techniques. Donor screeners will assist with shipping and receiving milk, order reconciliations and maintaining documentation relevant to purchases and shipments of milk.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Science, medicine or related field or equivalent of college education/or High School Diploma/GED plus 4 years of health care experience.

  • Certified Lactation Counselor within 12 months of hire.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Screens potential donors and provide information about milk donation.

  • Maintains timely communication with active donors: weekly check-ins and follow-up on paperwork/labs within three weeks of initial contact.

  • Offers bereavement counseling to mothers who have experienced loss.

  • Provides safe milk expression and storage guidance, and supply milk collection materials as needed.

  • Maintains inventory for donor and instruction packets, forms, and depot site supplies.

  • Assists with retail space operations and stocking.

  • Reviews relevant HMBANA documents and ensure compliance.

  • Supports data collection and record-keeping for research projects and assist with tours as needed.

  • Maintains professional, confidential, and customer-oriented communication with donors, stakeholders, and staff in line with UAMS’s values.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.


Salary Information:
