Summary of Job Duties:

This position is responsible for accessing outside slides, mailing back outside slides, ordering additional material if needed, printing reports, conference support and releasing internal material for outside requests. This position supports the Anatomical Pathology Department.
• Assists with retrieval of internal slides and blocks. Weekly schedule is followed for multiple locations. Tracking of slides and blocks in Epic/Acros if previously pulled. Separates newer cases to be placed in oven for 24 hours prior to filing.
• Filing of internal cases chronologically into slide drawers then place into medal filing cabinets. Cabinets are labeled with corresponding case type and number range.
• Assists with internal request of pathology material. All cases are checked out and in to the tracking system in Epic and Acros.
• Scanning of block drawers into the Acros system when received from histology for filing.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School, GED or formal education equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year of experience in a medical laboratory.
