Summary of Job Duties:

Reports directly to the captain. This position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Detective/Investigator and Clergy Compliance Officer. The role includes oversight of investigative operations, records management and police property room.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Have a high school diploma / GED with at least two years of certified law enforcement experience

  • Currently possess a general certificate from the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and training as a Police Officer

  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • Possess a valid Arkansas Driver’s license

  • Have basic computer skills with a general knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

  • Ability to properly prepare and write police reports

  • Ability to communicate and maintain a good rapport with the campus population

  • Ability to engage in and maintain control of persons by use of minimal force needed in required situations

  • Knowledge of law enforcement practices, methods, and techniques

  • Knowledge of law enforcement traffic, criminal laws, and departmental regulations and procedures Ability to enforce parking regulations

  • Ability to operate motor vehicles used in work activities

  • Skill in the operations of firearms

  • Ability to walk a minimum of 8 to 12 miles in a 12-hour shift

  • Ability to climb stairwells

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of law enforcement experience

  • Prior investigative experience


Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:
•    Supervise assigned personnel and ensure effective coordination of duties and responsibilities.
•    Assign cases to detectives and provide guidance and oversight on investigative strategies.
•    Maintain and manage the department’s Records Management System to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accessibility.
•    Provide oversight of the police property room.
•    Oversee fleet management for all department vehicles, including maintenance, usage tracking, and replacement planning
