The Geauga Regionals Medical Center Cath Lab is a small group of dedicated cardiac professionals who enjoy the challenge of treating cardiac, peripheral and interventional Radiology procedures. EP pacemaker and ICD implants are also done in our cath lab. Plenty of variety! Our team enjoys caring for these patients at some of the most stressful times in their lives. If you enjoy a fast paced work environment with lots of opportunity to grow and learning opportunity, the Cath Lab is for you! Continuous education, in-services and shadowing over a minimum 3 month period are priority before you would be placed on call, insuring your confidence and that of your team mates. Cardiac Cath Lab RNs work closely with our techs and may scrub, circulate or monitor cases rotating as necessary.

A Brief Overview
Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Shift:
Hours: 8 hour shifts; 7:00-3:30 p.m.; This is an outpatient department & the staff works until the cases are complete.
Call Requirement: 30 - 35 minutes arrival to hospital after page
1 year of RN experience preferred.
Preferred experience: ICU, ED, Cath/EP Lab; will orient nurses to critical care if no critical care experience
Education Qualifications
Diploma in Nursing or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required).
(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred).
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
