About the Role

 

The primary purpose of the Environmental Services Worker position is to perform various tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment at University Hospital.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do  

  • Keeps patient and non-patient areas of the facility clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, showers, laboratories, offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other areas as assigned using approved cleaners and hospital approved germicide.
  • Strips linen from beds, washes beds and mattresses using hospital approved germicide, remakes beds after discharge.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment, empties waste baskets, trash, recycling and medical waste containers, washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills, polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Performs light moves and set ups.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position; prior experience in institutional environmental services is preferred.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $ 16.49 – $ 17.50 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
