Operating Room Clinical Care Coordinator RN (Weekend ALT)101 Truman Medical CenterGet ready, because our Operating Room is leveling up in a major way! University Health is officially expanding to more OR suites, more advanced technology, and more opportunities to deliver the kind of patient care we’re proud of.
And with all this exciting growth comes one thing we absolutely need…
More amazing, experienced OR nurses to join our surgical dream team!
As we open new rooms and broaden our surgical capabilities, we’re looking for nurses who bring skill, calm under pressure, teamwork, and maybe even a little surgical swagger. Whether you specialize in ortho, neuro, trauma, cardiac, or you’re the master of all trades, we want passionate professionals who love the art (and science!) of surgery.
Where precision meets purpose.
Are you a confident, compassionate RN who thrives in the organized chaos of the OR? Do you stay calm under pressure, anticipate the team’s next move, and love seeing your efforts make a real-time impact? If so, we want you scrubbing in with us!
As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you’ll be the heartbeat of surgical care — combining sharp clinical skills, teamwork, and compassion to deliver excellent outcomes. You’ll care for patients through complex procedures, mentor newer RNs, and collaborate across disciplines to keep everything running smoothly from pre-op to recovery.
Provide expert care for surgical patients — whether they’re facing acute, chronic, or terminal conditions.
Perform pre-, intra-, and post-operative assessments tailored to each patient’s needs.
Use the full nursing process (yep — assessment, planning, action, and evaluation!) to deliver top-notch care in the OR.
Mentor new RNs as they train, grow, and get up to speed in the OR department.
Be part of the bigger picture — contributing to committees, program development, continuing education, and mentoring nursing students.
Work within the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and all hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Current Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain one.
Current BCLS certification.
If you’ll be assisting with radiology-related procedures, you’ll need radiology training via your program or validated through in-house competency.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
An RN specialty certification (like CNOR — Certified Nurse Operating Room).
Supportive team culture and collaborative environment.
Opportunities to mentor, grow, and advance your career.
A fast-paced setting where your skills really matter — and make a difference daily.
The chance to be a part of life-changing moments for patients and families.
This is more than a job — it’s your chance to lead with skill, support your team, and make a real difference in patients' lives every single day. If you're ready to bring your OR energy to a place that values your expertise, let's talk!
