Many UHP physicians have teaching responsibilities for residents, fellows, and medical students. The UMKC SOM accepts students directly out of high school for a six-year combined baccalaureate/Doctor of Medicine program. The UMKC SOM Graduate Medical Education program supports over 30 residencies and fellowships.

Job Description
University Health Physicians, the academic group practice for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine seeks a full time faculty member for the Department of Ob/GYN at University Health Women’s Care (UHWC) in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with hospital privileges at Truman Medical Center – Lakewood. UHWC provides the expertise of academic medicine in a private practice setting. The practice includes 5 certified Nurse Midwives and 2 WHNP’s. The ideal candidate is a BC/BE Ob/Gyn physician who provides excellent full scope obstetric and gynecologic care, in the office and hospital. The selected candidate would join a group of Ob/Gyn specialists, a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon, a gynecologist oncologist and 2 certified nurse midwives, in a beautiful suburban setting. Opportunities for medical student and resident education, in-office procedures and daVinci robotic surgery are also available.
Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with background. In addition to a busy residency program of 32 residents, the Department of OB/GYN, primarily located in Kansas City, Missouri, has a Maternal-fetal Medicine fellowship program, a newly accredited Urogynecology and Female Reproductive Surgery fellowship, as well as exciting opportunities for research and academic achievement.
