Help Keep Our Hospital Clean & Safe: Join Our Team as an Environmental Services Worker!

Are you someone who takes pride in keeping things clean and organized? We’re looking for a Environmental Services Worker to help maintain a neat, safe, and sanitary environment for our hospital. You’ll be the behind-the-scenes hero, making sure that patients, staff, and visitors enjoy a comfortable, clean space every day.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Cleaning & Service: Follow established procedures to clean and service different hospital areas, from patient rooms to common spaces, ensuring they are in top condition.

  • Furniture & Equipment Moves: Move furniture, equipment, and supplies around departments as needed, helping to set up spaces for various hospital functions.

  • Safety & Sanitation: Perform a variety of tasks to maintain the hospital’s cleanliness, always following infection control standards and safety procedures to prevent hazards and keep everyone safe.

  • Operating Equipment: Use electric and battery-powered floor care equipment to keep floors spotless – safely and efficiently.

  • Chemical Safety: Read and understand cleaning chemical labels to know their contents and first aid instructions, ensuring safe usage for yourself and others.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: You should be able to speak and read English and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors. Both verbal and written communication skills are key.

  • Physical Strength: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally handle heavier items when necessary.

  • Equipment Knowledge: Know how to operate cleaning and floor care equipment safely and effectively.

  • Training Readiness: Be ready to complete a competency assessment after undergoing training and mentoring within 30-60 days of hire.

  • Attention to Detail: Be able to follow both written and verbal instructions and pay attention to all the small details that make a big difference in cleanliness and safety.

Preferred:

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

  • Healthcare Experience: Experience working in a healthcare environment is a plus!

  • Experience in Environmental Services: 6 months of experience in environmental service duties within an institution would be an advantage.
