Job Description

About the Role:

You’re not just cleaning rooms — you’re setting the stage where life-saving magic happens. As an Operating Room Cleaning Specialist, you’ll be part of the behind-the-scenes dream team that keeps surgical spaces spotless, safe, and ready for action. Your mission: fight germs, battle dust, and make sure every surface shines like new.

This isn’t your average cleaning gig — you’ll get specialized training, work with cool equipment, and be trusted with one of the most important jobs in the hospital. If you’re someone who takes pride in their work, loves a good shine, and knows that details matter — we want you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Give Operating Rooms and surgical areas the VIP cleaning treatment after each procedure.

  • Use high-powered vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and other pro-level tools like a boss.

  • Master the art of using the right cleaner on the right surface — no streaks, no damage, just sparkling results.

  • Keep things smelling fresh and clean (yes, we mean really clean).

  • Stick to strict safety, cleanliness, and infection prevention protocols.

  • Team up with Environmental Services, Infection Prevention, and OR pros to learn the ropes and keep your skills sharp.

  • Occasionally step into a leadership role when needed and help keep the team on track.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • A high school diploma or GED.

  • Some hands-on housekeeping experience (bonus points if it's in a hospital or medical setting).

  • Willingness to complete special training for surgical area cleaning — don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

  • Know-how with vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and more.

  • Attention to detail and care with cleaning products and surfaces.

  • Solid reading and writing skills to follow instructions and keep things documented.

  • Strength and stamina — this job keeps you moving!

  • A team-player attitude and pride in doing meaningful work.

  • The ability to supervise a small crew when called upon.

Perks of the Job:

  • Be part of a mission-driven team that makes a real impact.

  • Learn specialized cleaning skills that go beyond the basics.

  • Work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment (no two days are the same!).

  • Be a key player in patient safety — your work truly matters.

Ready to roll up your sleeves and be the hero behind the scenes? We’d love to meet you.
