Job Duties:

Under general supervision, this position reports to University Dining Food Service Assistant Manager. The ability to organize, clean and sanitize dishware and small wares with the aid of dish room equipment and cleaning supplies combined with opening and closing procedures is required. The ability to communicate with team members and management is also required. The ability to work alternate hours as needed is required.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Moves and maintains equipment and furniture for dining events
  • Shelves and organizes (stockroom, warehouse) inventory
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures
  • Assists student employees and provides training as needed
  • Operates a dishwashing station and associated equipment

Department:

Under general supervision, this position reports to University Dining Food Service Assistant Manager. The ability to organize, clean and sanitize dishware and small wares with the aid of dish room equipment and cleaning supplies combined with opening and closing procedures is required. The ability to communicate with team members and management is also required. The ability to work alternate hours as needed is required.

Shift: Work will be scheduled Monday through Sunday, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Variable and Holiday hours may be required.

Compensation:

$15-$17 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

FTE:

75% (Full time during academic year; optional summer hours available)

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of sanitation procedures
  • Basic knowledge of stocking procedures
  • Basic knowledge of dish washing equipment
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work as a team

Terms of Employment:

This is a temporary University Staff position, at will employment, and non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is required to serve a six-month probation period.
