About this role

Primary Objective:

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the Production Planning and Procurement functions across all facilities. This role ensures continuity of material supply, effective production scheduling, inventory optimization, and supplier performance — fully aligned with organizational goals for cost, delivery, and quality.

The Director will lead the Planning Managers at each site, Procurement Manager, Strategic Sourcing Manager, and outside processing manager


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management: lead, mentor, and develop high performing teams in production planning and procurement. Set clear goals and KPIs, provide ongoing coaching, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Strengthen cross-functional communication between Supply Chain, Operations, Technology, Sales, & Finance. Continue to develop the teams for succession planning and growth.
  • Strategic Planning & Scheduling: Lead the S&OP process ensuring clear visibility of constraints, upcoming risks, and alignment between Operations & Sales Departments. Direct planning teams to optimize lead time, eliminate bottlenecks and minimize WIP through implementing fundamental Theory of Constraint methodology. Provide clear reporting, performance visibility, and direction to key personnel by leveraging various KPIs like attainment charts, dashboards, etc. Support the EVP and the Financial teams on forecasting future months performance.
  • Procurement & Supplier Management: Oversee the company wide procurement for Raw materials, consumables, services, Capex, freight, and utilities. Implement Strategic sourcing practices that can help directly to bottom line through price reductions, value creation, terms improvement etc. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers for our largest and most critical spend items.
  • Working Capital Management: Drive optimized inventory levels across all operations for WIP, Raw Materials, & Operating supplies to minimize working capital investment while not impacting operations. Partner with the financial teams to push for the best payment terms possible to extend our DPO. Partner with Technology and Sales to help move slow moving inventory in WIP and raw materials.
  • Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement efforts in planning & procurement that directly relate to improved working capital or EBITDA. Streamline business processes of the teams activities to free up team bandwidth and reduce errors. Assure all processes are fully documented and tribal knowledge is eliminated.   • Perform any other duties as may be required on an as-requested basis by the Executive Vice President.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 15+ years of manufacturing experience, with Supply Chain and metals environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence at all levels
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Expert negotiation and strategic sourcing skills
  • Strong command of S&OP, Production Planning, and Theory of Constraint methodology


Working Conditions:

  • Expected travel to Dunkirk, North Jackson, & Titusville as needed to support planning and procurement teams
  • Regular interaction with plant operations, planning teams, & suppliers
  • Office-based with regular hours with occasional requirements to adjust schedules based on various urgent needs
