1. Education: B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution, with fulfillment of required clinical affiliations. Successful completion of national registration examination with scores required to obtain licensure. A current license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Arkansas.
2. Training and Experience: One to three months on-the job training to learn department procedures.
3. Job Knowledge: Must be able to perform job duties of a registered occupational therapist and those general duties specific to the Rehabilitative Services Department. Must be able to function in a professional manner with minimal direct supervision, accepting responsibility for developing and maintaining a personal relationship with patients and their families.

DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for maintaining standards of patient care in accordance with hospital regulations, policies and procedures as established for occupational therapy; confers with the medical staff on procedures and policies pertaining to the care of their patients in this area; supervises therapy technicians. Responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment required for patient care, charging, scheduling and record keeping.
Physical Effort: Required to lift and carry equipment, supplies and materials. Assists patients in positioning and transfers as needed for specific treatment programs. Talking and hearing to convey instructions and information to patients and staff members. Visual acruity to perceive reactions to treatment and to read instructions.
Interpersonal Relationships: Works directly with patients of all ages, staff physicians, nursing service and in conjunction with physical therapy personnel, speech therapists, social workers, psychologists and dietary personnel.
