As a Senior User Experience Designer, you’ll help shape the user experience of our internal Insurance Solutions platforms. You’ll work collaboratively with Product Management teams, business users and stakeholders. 

Our ideal candidate is comfortable performing user-centered research, building wireframes, wiring prototypes, testing with users and delivering developer-ready visual designs. You’ll have the rare opportunity to work directly with actual end-users to improve software and maintain global experience standards.

You should be comfortable with large application design, navigating a complex organization, gathering information from many sources and helping shape tested solutions. As part of this position, you’ll help define and explain evidence-based solutions.

 

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with product owners, users, and stakeholders to develop solutions that effectively solve problems and meet business objectives
  • Conduct interviews and research with our users to better understand their needs
  • Work with stakeholders to craft and implement solutions that achieve business goals and are effective for end users
  • Create wireframes, prototypes and visual designs
  • Create functional specifications and other UX / UI documentation intended for developers and product owners
  • Help promote the value of user-centered design throughout the organization
  • Participate in stakeholder reviews to gain approvals as needed
  • Provide guidance and expertise to temporary project resources, as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Creative or Technology related fields or High School Diploma / GED with 4+ years of UX work experience 
  • Experience with either Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Experience performing research and making recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experience working with Insurance Solutions users and Product Management Team
  • Experience working with Insurance Solutions core applications
  • Worked or is currently working as a contractor placed at UHG or one of its subsidiaries or affiliates
  • Comfortable working in an Agile delivery methodology
     

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Work experience within health care and/or health insurance

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
