You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to engineering leadership for outbound communications
  • Lead teams to design, build, and maintain core Transactional Print Fulfillment platforms
  • Own key metrics: print/mail availability, document turnaround times, time to market, and production efficiency
  • Oversee the full communications lifecycle—from requirements gathering through design, print composition, QA, deployment, and post-production support
  • Deliver modular, secure solutions for high-volume print and digital delivery channels
  • Coordinate with global operations teams for seamless execution of large-scale print jobs
  • Align with Product and Enterprise Architecture to translate business needs into technical specifications for outbound communications
  • Drive modernization: advance cloud-based fulfillment workflows, leverage open-source tools, and reduce legacy system dependencies
  • Oversee document composition, printing, finishing, mailing logistics, and reconciliation for critical items like EOBs/statements/checks
  • Ensure 24/7 operational support and SLA compliance for high-priority transactional print applications
  • Manage microservices powering document generation and omnichannel distribution (print/email/web portals)
  • Integrate platforms with external data sources/APIs; enable multi-channel customer communication delivery
  • Build dashboards tracking real-time job status across print runs and digital fulfillment queues
  • Lead quality assurance across the outbound communications process; drive continuous improvement in accuracy and timeliness
  • Partner with infrastructure teams, vendors (print/mail houses), and business units to resolve issues fast and optimize service levels

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering and communication platforms, including 5+ years leading high-performing engineering teams
  • 7+ years of experience with design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade applications in the Azure public cloud using Java and Spring Boot frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience managing structured and unstructured data for high-volume document workflows
  • 5+ years of experience with one or more document composition tools (e.g. Quadient Inspire)
  • Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, instrumentation, and observability practices
  • Proven ability to lead automation-first initiatives, adoption of Artificial Intelligence tools and drive code reuse and maintainability

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Linux/Windows server environments, Databricks, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes and Apache Kafka
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulatory requirements for healthcare communications
  • Skilled in root cause analysis, performance tuning, and optimization of complex systems. Capable of interpreting data to drive decisions and improve operational efficiency
  • Proven solid customer-centric mindset with experience in design thinking and agile methodologies
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and influence architecture decisions
  • Proven ability to implement and audit security controls across systems and data flows

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 to $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
