We are seeking a versatile BI Analytics Engineer to work across the full spectrum of business intelligence and analytics engineering. This hybrid role combines expertise in BI visualization and dashboard development (in Hex) with modern analytics engineering practices (heavy focus on dbt) and data analysis. You'll transform raw data into reliable models, uncover actionable insights, and build compelling BI solutions that empower stakeholders to drive business decisions. This role is ideal for someone who excels at blending technical data modeling with business storytelling in a modern data stack environment.

Responsibilities

  • BI Development & Visualization
    • Design and build interactive dashboards, reports, and self-service tools using BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Mode) to turn data into clear, impactful stories for stakeholders.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable BI solutions.
    • Optimize queries and business logic to ensure data accuracy and performance.
  • Data Modeling & Transformation
    • Collaborate with ETL Team Lead to ensure all upstream data requirements are built to stage data for BI dashboards.
    • Build, maintain, and test scalable data models in dbt to create clean, trustworthy datasets.
  • Analytics & Insights
    • Conduct exploratory and diagnostic analysis to identify trends, define KPIs, answer business questions, and deliver recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with teams across the organization to understand requirements and ensure analytics align with business goals.
  • Data Governance & Quality
    • Ensure compliance with data governance standards and practices, such as HIPAA.
    • Implement and monitor data quality frameworks and validation routines.
    • Maintain documentation for data models, definitions, and processes.
  • Analytics Process & SDLC
    • Help define, evolve, and maintain the data team's SDLC processes, applying software engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI/CD) to dbt models, BI assets, and workflows to optimize reliability, speed, and scalability of the data & analytics function.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will require occasional travel to UEW events and meeting with business stakeholders at our various field offices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Apache Superset, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and requirements gathering.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse).
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must pass a criminal background check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Python or R for analysis and automation
  • Data modeling/transformation tools (e.g. dbt, Azure Data Factory, SQLMesh, etc.)
  • Exposure to data governance tools and frameworks.
  • Independent yet collaborative in a fast-paced setting

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
