Job overview and responsibilities
The objective of this role is to be the primary driver of data analysis for purchasing and performance team, focusing on purchase orders, supplier performance, and team efficiency metrics. The insights and reports generated will be crucial for guiding work management processes, flagging areas of supplier improvement, setting strategic team priorities, and informing the Procurement team's sourcing and contracting decisions by embedding quantitative supplier performance data into the process. This role will also be responsible for supporting all ad-hoc data requests across both United States and IKC regions.
Key Responsibilities and Analytics Focus
Establish Data Infrastructure and Reporting:
Lead the design and setup of work management systems and performance metrics within a data-driven framework.
- Leverage SQL to query, transform, and manage large-scale purchase order and inventory datasets.
- Develop and implement Power BI (or similar tools like Tableau) dashboards and reports to visualize metrics and drive continuous improvement for the team and suppliers.
- Utilize Excel for deep-dive analysis, modeling, and validating data integrity.
Supplier Performance Data Analytics:
- Apply data analytics (including Python/R for advanced analysis) to track, model, and communicate supplier performance across key dimensions such as: on-time delivery (OTD), exception rates, system spares availability, and price change variance.
- Generate and automate weekly supplier performance reports using reporting tools, highlighting performance trends, identifying immediate support needs, and recommending work prioritization.
- Use predictive or prescriptive analytics to flag high-priority areas and proactively manage operational work queues and escalations.
Strategic & Operational Support:
- Participate in daily production calls, translating operational updates into data requirements and relaying actionable analytical insights back to necessary parties.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations that clearly communicate performance progress, strategic findings, and recommended actions, effectively translating complex data into business-relevant narratives.
- Work with major supplier relationships, employing data-driven program management to support and track recovery efforts for underperforming partners.
