Purpose of Role

An exciting opportunity has been made available for a proven commercially astute individual to join our growing Under Armour commercial sales team. This role is a standout position to work with one of our Top 5 Global Accounts, JD Group, based in UK.

This role is new to the team and has a huge scope for the right individual to make a real impact for the UA x JD business but also their own personal development and career.

Your Impact

We are looking for a person with a proven track record in Top tier Account Management to provide strong sales experience, ideally within the Sports Industry. You will have a lead role in working cross functionally with UA product, merchandising, marketing, operations, and planning teams, as well as managing multiple account buyers and merchandisers. Your responsibility will be to strategically manage and drive sustainable, yet ambitious, revenue growth within JD Group, focused on the Womens/Girls Apparel category. Understanding the needs of the JD consumer is a key aspect of the role, also experience of working with JD is hugely beneficial, but not essential. You will be open minded, self-motivated and a team player with excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for managing the business relationship for the Womens/Girls apparel category.
  • Responsible for creating, updating and delivering a category specific strategic account plan, ensuring that Under Armour is positioned to deliver growth aligned to the strategy.
  • Oversee end-to-end sales process (e.g., sell-in, sell-out, assortment selection, excellent in-season orderbook management and identify additional stock opportunities / replenishment)
  • Build strong relationships within JD Group to strengthen existing partnership and deliver first class service level
  • Understand and articulate sell through data throughout the season
  • Support internal product teams to help inform and drive strategy and future opportunities
  • Pro-actively communicate business results to line manager and overcome barriers to achieve objectives
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations of products and seasonal sales performance throughout the GTM sales process
  • Understand the intersection between the Under Armour and JD Group target consumer to optimize brand positioning in the market
  • Understand Under Armour overall - business unit and category objectives and strategies
  • Understand and apply the Under Armour segmentation and differentiation policy
  • Develop assortment proposals to deliver against the distribution objectives/development of destination categories
  • Strong knowledge and passion of the Sport and the Sports Industry (customer profiles, competitors and market trends)
  • Work closely together with Account Customer Service team to ensure orders and delivery of products
  • Establish and maintain a strong internal communication and relationship with the line Managers and X-functions
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Practice honesty and integrity and solution orientated approach at all touch points between Under Armour teammates & the JD group teams.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 8 years’ of experience or
  • Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience or
  • Typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree working in a commercial account management or comparable role, with a proven track record of high achievements
  • Experience of working in a B2B environment, supporting quarterly go to market business processes with internal and external teams
  • Experience & or understanding of working with product and design teams to drive account relevant assortment (SMU, Exclusivity & colour carve out initiatives with business case input)
  • Ability to work cross functionally with internal external stakeholders to drive efficiencies and results

Workplace Location

  • Location: UK Based with expected travel to Under Armour Office based in JD Group HQ (Bury), Manchester Showroom plus Amsetrdam HQ.
  • Work life Integration Designation: On average it will be 2 days within an office with the remainder of work week remote. This will depend on point in time across the key GTM touchpoints and selling season
  • Travel: 40% Travel encompassing visits to EMEA HQ & key GTM milestones in Amsterdam & JD Group HQ locations (Bury & Manchester) plus regular retail visits to focus on category remit within the Team.

Base Compensation

 £56,460.99-£70,576.23 GBP

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position. UA is committed to helping our teammates succeed and advance in their careers. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
