Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. POSITION SUMMARY:

Works under the direction of a licensed nurse to assist in meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in a professional and timely manner.
Performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Position provides direct care with limited invasive procedures. This position is an
advancement opportunity for the Nurse Aide and adheres to the delegable tasks approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.


Qualifications

  • Reading and numerical competency.
  • Two years of performing as a nursing assistant in the healthcare profession preferred. Completion of CNA, Medical Assistant course, two years of nursing school or other recent comparable education and job experience recommended.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting. Must successfully complete "Handle with Care" within 6 months of hire/transfer, and annually thereafter.
  • Must be able to provide basic care giving skills to patients. Must have effective communication and time management skills. Ability to follow procedural standards safely without direct supervision. Must have the ability to demonstrate basic care giving skills and essential job functions.
