Unit Overview
The Emergency Department at GW Hospital is a high-volume, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center with over 50 treatment bays, dedicated trauma rooms, and behavioral health and observation areas. Serving more than 80,000 patients annually, the ED cares for a wide variety of critical and complex cases including trauma, cardiac, neuro, and medical emergencies. Nurse-to-patient ratios vary based on zone, from 1:2 in resuscitation to 1:4 in fast-track. The department operates 24/7 with close coordination among trauma surgeons, specialists, and the Rapid Response Team.
Position Summary
The ED Clinical Supervisor provides frontline leadership during assigned shifts, guiding nursing staff in the delivery of timely, safe, and effective emergency care. This role combines clinical excellence with staff mentoring and operational oversight.
