Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86 bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Littleton, CO.  Highlands features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.

Under the direction of the Group Director of Intake, the Assistant Director of Intake assures smooth and orderly processes are followed for responding to Intake calls, referrals, and admission into the hospital. Assistant Director of Intake is accountable for assisting in management of the department, providing supervision for Intake Staff, crisis intervention, and responding to referrals appropriately.  The Assistant Director of Intake sets the tone and example of compassion, empathy, efficiency and a sense of urgency in the department.

 

This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The working position of Assistant Director of Intake will assist in daily administrative duties, assist the Group Intake Director in assigned tasks, complete Intake Assessor duties, as well as, Patient Access Coordinator duties, as needed within department. Position of Assistant Director of Intake requires skills for providing effective leadership within the Intake Department and the ability to organize Intake staff to effectively and timely serve patients, families, and referral sources through the referral and Admission process.   This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.  This includes assisting the Director of Intake with interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees, as well as, appraising performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Requirements: 

 

Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field, with at least two years crisis experience.

Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting. Supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure: LPC or LCSW required.
