Project Engineer
We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for a proactive and safety-driven Project Engineer to join our team on a major underground project at Olympic Dam in South Australia.
In this pivotal role, you’ll bring your engineering expertise to the supply, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of the project. You’ll work closely with construction and project teams to ensure technical clarity, schedule alignment, and cost-effective delivery in line with client expectations.
This is a hands-on role where your ability to solve problems, manage stakeholders, and drive outcomes will be key to project success. If you're a detail-oriented professional with a passion for safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you.
To be considered for a role the following skills and experience would be preferred:
Proven ability to support construction teams with documentation, compliance, and coordination under the UGL Management System.
Skilled in liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on engineering, procurement, and delivery matters.
Experience managing project schedules, cost tracking, and productivity monitoring, including contractor timesheet and claim approvals.
Familiarity with commissioning processes, MOC workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficient in SAP and project reporting tools, with a focus on cost control and forecasting.
Strong commitment to safety leadership, aligned with Olympic Dam’s core safety behaviours and HSEC responsibilities.
Effective communicator and collaborator, contributing to planning meetings, shutdown coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational discipline, support audits, and improve efficiency within project teams.
What we offer
FIFO Roster: (5/2 days roster) 3 days x 12 hrs per day onsite and 2 days are WFH.
Local in Roxby Downs Roster: (5/2 days roster) 5 days x 10 hrs per day.

UGL Regional Linx was established in 2021, after parent company, UGL Limited was selected to deliver operations and maintenance of rail infrastructure for the Country Regional Network (CRN). This network ensures the safe movement of people and goods throughout the regions of NSW, and links Sydney with many important regional centres.
UGL Regional Linx commenced operations on January 30 2022 and works on behalf of the client, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and will be responsible for managing an important network of assets. As part of its operation, UGL Regional Linx’s scope of work includes:
• Network operations
• Rail infrastructure maintenance and implementation of a new train control system - UGL’s proprietary system, Sigview.
• Asset and property management, and
• Safety, access, performance, and environmental management.
UGL Regional Linx has made a strong commitment to local and indigenous employment, further strengthening the organisation’s commitment to regional NSW. As part of its operations, UGL Regional Linx established its head office and Network Control Centre in the heart of the Central West, Orange, NSW.
The CRN network includes:
• 2,386 route kilometres of operational passenger and freight rail lines, including 996 km of branch line track used predominantly for haulage of grain, with lower mass and speed limits than other parts of the network
• 3,139 route kilometres of non-operational lines
• 27,000 hectares of land and infrastructure
• 1,312 level crossings (300 active)
• 1,200 property assets (including 356 heritage sites)
• 600 rail under bridges and 384 road overbridges
The CRN is a crucial piece of infrastructure to regional NSW and UGL Regional Linx is committed to ensure that it delivers for all customers, from rail passengers to farmers and industry.
